Obama moves us toward war

19 Mar

It appears that Obama will be attacking Libya in just a matter of hours. Once again were seeing a president take us to war simply because he doesn’t want to appear weak. For weeks neocons and liberals alike have criticized Obama for his weak leadership. In my opinion not going to war in Libya was probably the only smart decision he had made. We have no business attacking another country, especially when those who will take over will be just as bad or worse than the current leadership.

Could he let the Lybian population be attacked by a tyrant? Did not all civilised societies take care that the population could be protected? And not bow to the despot just for being able to get the petroleum?

That population has allowed a tyrant to rule them for years. American blood should not be spilled in Libya just so another tyrant can take his place. We should not buy any oil from Libya and I don’t believe we are, most of Libya’s oil is sold to Europe. If we need oil we should be producing here.

I am a veteran and I’m tired of us being sent around the world to fight everyone else’s wars. No matter who the president is he doesn’t have a right to play games with the military. The military should only be used to defend this Republic and when a declaration of war has been passed.

How much will the United States have to borrow from the Chinese to pay for this latest adventure?

If the United States does succeed in removing Kadaffi what is to say someone worse won’t be in his place?

This was Englands and France’s idea. The No Fly Zone. Why not sit back and let us see howthey do without us?

Should we not a least demand a quaranteed amount of oil and at a quaranteed price to cover expenses? Look at the liberation of Kuwait. We spent tons of money to free them for Saddam. Free of charge. When oil hit $100 a barrels and we complained, Kuwait said though cookies…you people can afford it.

The only bright spot I see is that this path will one day lead to this:

Thanks for the comment I completely agree with you, let France and the rest of Europe deal with this mess. After all it’s Europe that receives the majority of Libya’s oil they also have extensive business contracts with Libya.
