OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. | The third-ranked University of Alabama softball team came back from a lengthy weather delay to finish off No. 16 Louisiana-Lafayette, 3-1, in a Women’s College World Series game that ended after midnight.

Alabama was leading 3-1 in the middle of the sixth inning when play was halted at 10:27 p.m. by electrical storms in the area.

The Tide took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Brittany Rogers drew a walk, stole second, moved to third on a passed ball and scored on a wild pitch. [more]
